| Artist : 2014-15 A community-based commission with maker Ian Jones, for Nottinghamshire County Council to design, build and install a welcome gateway for the woodland planted on the site of the old colliery tip. With schools and family groups we took field trips to the site and collected natural items from different habitats. In workshops we used macro photography to transform the objects into pattern and form to inspire the sculpture’s design. Materials such as railways clips and wire rope were sourced locally used in the build to reflect current industry in the area. |
